Holiday Review Websites
Great starting places for holidays.
Teletext Holidays - The teletext holiday website allows a sophisticated search of holiday and flight availability. There are also holiday guides and holiday destination articles and features. Enter the date, where you can travel from, your destination and the teletext search facility will do the rest. You have to be a little careful, as my personal experience has been that there are many companies on teletext who are not offering genuine low-price holidays - they seem to quote a price then tell you it is gone, and then attempt to sell you a more expensive holiday than you were originally interested in.
Trip Advisor - a fantastic holiday resource. Trip Advisor has user contributed reviews of holidays and holiday accomodations all over the world. Reviews contribute to the hotels and holidays being ranked against each other. Want to know whih is the top-reviewed hotel in London out of over 1000 hotels? Trip Advisor has the answer. This is a good holiday resource if you find the bargain holiday of your dreams and want to check whether the hotel being offered is up to your standards. I've never yet NOT found a hotel I wanted to assess when I've used Trip Advisor.
Late Rooms - I like this hotel and bed and breakfast booking holiday website. It is only useful however if you are travelling very soon. Late Rooms is a database for the hotel industry and offers available rooms for the next seven days at a discount. Well worth checking out if you are just about to travel and haven't booked your accomodation yet. There are invariably bargains for hotel rooms if you are able to stay that night - great if you have just arrived somewhere and have Internet access.
Last Minute - I'm slightly loathe to recommend this holiday resource as I found them unresponsive when I had to sort out a problem with an hotel booking I made with them. However they are a huge site, and, supposedly, offer last minute bargains on flights and holidays. You could always look here for a beach holiday complete with palm trees at the last minute. Caveat Emptor. I tend to use Last ?Minute now, just for price comparisions, I prefer to purchase elsewhere.
BBC Holidays - The BBC holiday website seems to have disappeared (The BBC do this frequently with their online information - you get used to it. and expect it.) but if you visit the BBC homepage and do a simple search for holidays you will get access to countless articles, reviews and resources related to holidays in the UK and abroad.
