Ski Holidays
Ski Holidays can be energetic, exhilarating, healthy and full of fun. Do your research, book wisely and you can have an enjoyable and cost-effective winter ski holiday.
Travelling to your Ski Holiday Destination
Although the budget airlines may look remarkably cheap at first glance, they can often work out a more expensive way to travel to a ski resort if you are paying extra for skis, extra for baggage, extra for in-flight-meals, in fact everything is extra. Consider using an airline that has a generous baggage allowance to allow you to carry your skis and clothing inclusive of the airfare. Try BA or Snowjet, who both fly from Gatwick to many worldwide snow and ski destinations.
The best time to book your ski holiday
The best time to go ski-ing can vary depending on the resort you choose. Of course, the most expensive times to travel to ski, are during the Christmas Holidays, February half-term and Easter - so if you are able to travel outside these times you should get a good deal and not pay peak-time prices for flights and accomodation. Before Christmas is often the least expensive time to go on a ski holiday but the snow can be unreliable at this time of year (which is why the ski holidays are cheaper). If you choose and book wisely, this is the time when you can make big savings on a discount ski holiday.
Watch the weather
As snow is essential for a good skiing holiday, be sure to keep an eye on the weather reports for your skiing resort. Often bargains can be had when booking your skiing holiday if you can book at the last minute and travel to somewhere that hasn't had its expected snowfall yet - you will be taking a risk though - the snow may arrive after your ski-ing holiday is over - so plan well. However, if you get there and it snows.... whoopee! you have hit the jackpot - an inexpensive skiing holiday and lots and lots of snow
